lyrics
They burned down my home
Left me here all alone
They call me the Boy
My life is destroyed
I'll tear down these roads
With no real place to go
Gasoline and shotgun shells
Apocalypse and hell
Add more skin to my belt
Hell
Smoke black diesel sky
Life's just one way to die
Chain my hands to the wheel
High-tensile steel
Drive down the road
I'm not bad like these dogs, but I'm not safe on my own
So I follow the pack, pick what's left on the bones
While they feed on the weak, I'm just glad it's not me
So if they call me the Boy, I guess that's who I'll be
Some may say the riffage is "relentless" and suggest that every song was "an epic that rolls like sinister thunder across the land".
I find Merchant an underrated band that hopefully will one day have as much recognition as others. Old Man Doom
OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
